This year IMA Active<\/strong> is the sole sponsor of the traditional summer event \u201cISPE Summer Night\u201d<\/strong> which brings together pharmaceutical professionals, academics and regulatory experts to share experiences, case studies and participate in interactive discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023 edition of the event, which took place on 28 June at the Mudec<\/strong> – Museum of Cultures of Milan, was dedicated to digitization and automation in the pharmaceutical sector<\/strong>: a global priority to innovate and modernize the production and logistics processes of this ever-evolving and rapidly innovating sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISPE Summer Night was an opportunity to promote the change of paradigm in drug production<\/strong>. The industries of the sector must increasingly remain competitive on the global market, guaranteeing the availability, efficacy and safety of the products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovation in new \u201csmart\u201d ways can bring reliability, quality, competitiveness and sustainability to the pharmaceutical industry.<\/strong> It must not be forgotten that consumers in the pharmaceutical sector are patients, who use the products for their well-being and health and that the pharmaceutical sector, in addition to the challenges of each industrial sector, is called upon to ensure ever greater availability, efficacy and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To overcome the challenges that await us, it is necessary to implement faster innovation, with different methods and with broader objectives, compared with what has happened up to now. New \u201csmart\u201d modes<\/strong> are available today, which allow greater operational flexibility and full modularity in the machine integration, processes, digital solutions and especially people<\/strong>. We get there with new and multidisciplinary perspectives that allow us to design, develop and implement – in full harmony – new production systems that bring reliability, quality, competitiveness and sustainability to our industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An unmissable appointment to reflect on these issues, using the fascinating metaphor of conducting an orchestra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The metaphor of the orchestra and its conductor is proposed to compare two apparently different spheres: the pharmaceutical production and music<\/strong>. Just as the mechanisms that support the work of an orchestra take into account the personal dynamics that develop internally to obtain a harmonious result, in the same way the production of a tablet needs that each part of the process performs with the best quality and coordinates with the entire production strategy. Just as in music it is necessary for the conductor to orchestrate all the excellent instrumentalists in harmony, similarly in the production of drugs an integrated control system that orchestrates all the production units in synergy is certainly advantageous. The aim is to guarantee systematic control of critical parameters and, ultimately, to ensure the final quality of the product, i.e. the safety of the drug which is, in reality, its primary goal.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MASTER<\/strong>, the integrated control system designed by IMA Active<\/strong> and used to manage an entire continuous production line as if it were a single unit, was presented during the event. Its modular design allows for easy integration of different units and draws the operator’s attention to only the key production parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISPE <\/strong>(International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering) was founded in 1980. It is a non-profit organization that aims to drive scientific, technical and regulatory progress throughout the pharmaceutical life cycle. ISPE Italy Affiliate<\/strong> was founded in Milan in 1992. It currently counts more than 500 members from various fields of life sciences: manufacturing, engineering and automation, quality assurance, laboratory, logistics, IT, validation, universities and regulators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 1961, IMA <\/strong>is world leader in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, tea and coffee. IMA ACTIVE<\/strong> is one of the three pharmaceutical divisions and offers a complete range of machines for the processing of oral solid dosage forms: granulating equipment, tableting machines, capsule filling machines and capsule and tablet weighing machines, machines for coating tablets and capsules both in perforated cup and in solid cup, valves, product handling machines and component washing machines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
