Prevention and therapeutic adherence<\/strong> represent the most immediate tools to reduce the onset or worsening of pathologies, improving the state of health and reducing the incidence of healthcare costs. The patient’s compliance<\/strong> with the doctor’s recommendations (respecting times, doses and frequency of intake for the entire therapy cycle) is among the determining factors for the effectiveness of a drug. One of the approchs that promotes the compliance is represented by “deblistering<\/strong>“, <\/span>the division of the original contents of the sales package into single daily doses defined by the prescriber’s therapeutic plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The eighth session of the 63rd AFI symposium, entitled “Single-dose preparation in pharmacies: risks and opportunities<\/em>” and scheduled for June 6th<\/span>, is dedicated to this aspect.<\/p>\n

The session, therefore, will present the centrality of the figure of the pharmacist in the preparation of single doses, which are configured as a strategic tool to promote therapeutic adherence<\/strong>. <\/span>In the introductory part of the meeting, also with the aid of an ad hoc film, space will be given to the premises necessary to introduce the topic, dedicating particular emphasis to the concept of single-dose and the methods with which the fractionation, and <\/span>then continue with a<\/span>\u00a0speech by Dr. Zanini, who will talk about the pilot experience in Switzerland with antibiotics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maurizio Battistini, Treasurer and Past Vice President European Affairs – European Industrial Pharmacists Group (EIPG),\u00a0underlines these aspects in the interview presenting the session.
\n<\/span>In particular, during this interview, he presents us with the strengths of the single-dose preparation, including: the possibility of associating active control systems<\/strong> with the preparation of single doses that allow real adherence to be monitored, an active involvement of the pharmacist<\/strong> as an expert on the drug, <\/span>a better perception and more conscious use of the drug <\/span><\/strong>and <\/span>improving adherence to therapy<\/strong> resulting in an improvement in the patient’s health and well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n
