Deimos Group has joined the French distributor Lavollée/Firmalis to create SIDG: “Specialty Ingredients Distribution Group”, a strategic alliance specialized in the distribution of ingredients and raw materials for the Life Science and selected Industrial markets, with the financial support of the PE investor Waterland.

This strategic alliance opens a new chapter for both Groups, guided by innovation, quality, flexibility, and customer orientation, as first step in the creation of a new pan-European player: objective is the presence in all relevant European countries, with autonomously operating local champions as partnering entrepreneurs. Waterland will grant a common financial basis for this innovative concept through a common holding company in the Netherlands, SIDG BV.

Founded in 2011, Deimos Group has grown over the years through strategic acquisitions. Nowadays, it stands as a benchmark in the distribution of ingredients and raw materials for the Food, Nutraceuticals, Cosmetics, Pharma, Agro&Feed, and selected industrial specialties applications in Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Benelux, whereas Lavollée/Firmalis is present mainly in France with a comparable market coverage.

The alliance inside SIDG represents for both groups a significant growth opportunity, enabling them to expand their portfolio, enhance the quality of their customer service, and foster new operational and commercial synergies across the various teams.

Hervé Ory-Lavollée, PDG of Lavollée/Firmalis and CEO of SIDG BV, comments:

The integration of Deimos Group marks an important and strategic step in the consolidation of a Group that aim to be a major independent European player, flexible and up to date on the market in which it operates. Italy is a key area for us, and we are proud to welcome a company with a solid reputation and a strong culture of innovation, perfectly aligned with SIDG’s values.

Hans Udo Wenzel, President of Deimos Group and Chairman of the new alliance SIDG, adds:

Joining SIDG, which shares the same values and entrepreneurial vision that has guided Deimos since its foundation, will allow us to strengthen our commercial offering, valorise new opportunities for future growth, and to ensure proximity and continuity for all our customers and suppliers, while remaining true to our identity.
