MakingPharmaIndustry Working Papers welcomes original contributions, analytical papers, industry reports, policy reflections and interdisciplinary studies related to the pharmaceutical industry, life sciences, healthcare innovation, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, market dynamics, sustainability, digital transformation and organizational change.

The series is intended to provide a structured, traceable and citable environment for high-quality editorial and research-based content, with dedicated HTML pages, downloadable full-text PDFs, bibliographic metadata and DOI assignment through Zenodo, when available.

Types of contributions

The series may consider different types of contributions, including:

The recommended length may vary depending on the type of contribution. As a general indication, Working Papers should normally be between 3,000 and 8,000 words, including references.

Abstract and keywords

Each submission should include an abstract summarizing the purpose, scope and main arguments of the paper.

Authors are encouraged to refer to primary sources whenever possible, including scientific literature, regulatory documents, institutional reports, official statistics, policy documents and authoritative industry sources.

Editorial assessment

All submissions are assessed by the MakingPharmaIndustry editorial office for relevance, clarity, originality, documentation, consistency with the scope of the series and compliance with publication ethics.

When appropriate, submissions may be reviewed by external subject-matter experts selected according to the topic of the contribution.

The review process is not intended to replace formal academic peer review unless explicitly stated for a specific paper.

Accepted papers are published in open access on MakingPharmaIndustry, with a dedicated HTML page and downloadable full-text PDF.

A DOI may be assigned through Zenodo when the paper meets the editorial and technical requirements for long-term archiving and citation.

Conflicts of interest

Authors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the content of the paper.

Disclosures may be published together with the paper.

Use of generative artificial intelligence
